A Great Immune Booster For Cold and Flu Season
The kids are back at school with all the other little or big kids and that means they also have little or
big bugs. The kids tend to bring home that kind of thing so here’s a natural herbal remedy to keep those little or big bugs where they belong.
I frequent a site called Learning Herbs and they have this terrific herbal remedy to boost kids (and your) immune system. It will help keep the little and big bugs at bay!
They call it Chai! And it’s great for giving your body a boost to keep the fall and winter illness down. And you know kids, it’s hard enough to get them to wash their hands anytime let alone when they’re playing with the friends.
So mix up a batch of this and keep it handy and your winter flu’s and illness will stay away. Hopefully…
Most often chai is made with strong black tea, but unless you want a dose of caffeine, you can make this with herbs alone. It is delicious and it works!

Immune Building Autumn Chai Recipe
3 1⁄2 cups of boiling water
2 Cinnamon sticks
1 Tablespoon fresh Ginger, grated
1 whole Nutmeg, chopped
1 Tablespoon Cardamom seed pods
5 tongues of Astragulus root
1 Tablespoon dried burdock root
1 Tablespoon dried dandelion root
1⁄2 tsp. whole Cloves
1⁄4 tsp. black Peppercorns
1⁄2 tsp. Anise seeds
1⁄2 tsp. whole Allspice
1⁄2 tsp. Echinacea root
Simmer the spices in the water for about 15 minutes. (If you’d like to add black tea, add 1/8 cup after removing from the heat and steep for not more than 3 minutes.) I also like to add coffee to mine but that’s your choice.
Strain out the herbs, add warmed milk (I suggest at least 1/4 cup) and honey to taste. Enjoy this delicious fall tonic, and the wonderful feeling of giving your kids a tasty, nourishing treat! They won’t even know it’s medicine — And they’ll like it too!
Most of these ingredients you can get at the supermarket, however, you can get Burdock root, Dandelion root, Echinacea root and Astragulus right here.

I like it when I find natural Herbal Remedies. To Be honest I don’t like the thought of being pumped up with all kinds of drugs every time you get the sniffles or something. I know the cold and flu season is coming up and I’m glad I found this place where I can get some kind of immune booster. Drugs are not always the Answer.

Thanks for your Great Herbal Remedy. Lots of spices, you should probably sell it all as a package….
Great blog! It makes me happy to read about a natural immune booster. I have used Echinacea for years now and it simply saves a lot of time not being sick.
There are many good herbal remedies that boost the immune system, and so much safer than a flu shot. I hear that Vitamin D, some of the mushrooms, and Cat’s claw are also good for the immune system.

I have actually tried something similar and it worked wonders for nordic colds
Fantastic work here. The more we can educate people to use natural herbal remedies and stay away from unnecessary use of pharmaceutical products the better. Your immune booster has a number of the well known and studied immunity nutrients - a perfect remedy for the cold and flu season
Wow what a great recipe! I can’t wait to try this myself! I usually take echinacea for a cold and I do it in a tincture form, to be able to put the root in a tea is a great benefit for me! Great Blog!
